6. Dam Square
For world-class shopping head to Dam Square. The shops in this area boast a centuries-old
history specializing in fine craftsmanship of diamonds and jewelery. Choose from luxury
watch brands like Chopard and Rolex for a real souvenir.
New Church
The neo-Gothic New Church or De Nieuwe Kerk was built in the 15th century and stands
just across from the Royal Palace on Dam Square. It's well-preserved and intricate architec-
ture is breathtaking, giving visitors a glimpse into the city's glorious past. Today, church ser-
vices are no longer held, however it is used for exhibitions and concerts. The New Church
is also where the modern-day royals have been married and crowned.
