Clean, friendly and fully licensed,
this local favourite doles out excellent Mongolian dishes; we recommend the
bainshte
shöl
(dumpling soup). Ask for the English menu - they only have one, and it sometimes
takes a while to find. There's no sign but it's above a small supermarket.

This theatre is named after the famous play by local hero Danzan Rav-
jaa, who would be proud that this Sainshand theatre group is considered the best outside
of Ulaanbaatar. Check noticeboards by the entrance for scheduling.

Getting There & Around
Because at least two trains link Sainshand with Ulaanbaatar every day, there are no
flights here. The new paved road linking UB and Zamyn-Üüd may make catching a
shared taxi to either possible.
A shared taxi from the train station to the town centre costs T500/1000 per person dur-
ing the day/night. You can walk the 2km in around 30 minutes. Walk away (south) from
the station, turn right at the T-junction then take the next left and keep walking up and
over the hill.
JEEP
Shared jeeps and taxis park themselves by the market. Ask here for a taxi to Khamaryn
Khiid (T50,000 to T60,000 return).
