In-Depth Information
Two groups of MSP clusters are used in the motion evaluation
experiment. Group 1 is with the total MSP number of 12 and Group
2 is with the total MSP number of 37. The clusters are steered in the
proposed system as shown in Fig. 8.35, and with impulse current
whose peak value is 0.21 A. Figure 8.37 shows the distance of two
group of MSP as a function of time, the frequency of input impulse
current is 0.8 Hz with a wave duty circle of 30% to ensure enough
delay time for coils. As the igure shows, linear displacement have
achieved by impulse current input with average velocity of 0.25
mm/s and 0.116 mm/s, and linear regression coeficient of 0.997
and 0.998, respectively. This velocity difference between the two
groups is caused by different friction force between MSP cluster and
the wall of glass chamber and different magnetic force due to the
unequal quantity of magnetic powders between MSPs. In a single
impulse, the average moving speed of MSP cluster for group 1 and
group 2 are 0.773 mm/s and 0.442 mm/s, respectively. Figure 8.38
shows the motion images of MSP cluster from Group 1 and Group
2 at different time, demonstrating good controllability to MSP/MSP
cluster.

value of input current impulse is 0.21 A, with a frequency of
0.8 Hz.
