Design Museum
Regular shows in the Triennale building have championed design practice since
the 1930s, but its permanent museum of Italian design was only launched in 2007.
Across a symbolic bridge, the inaugural survey of iconic objects and furniture in-
cluded Pesce's Moloch lamp and Sottsass' Memphis pieces. Recent exhibits in-
cluded Fabio Novembre's 2012 exploration of the Italian school of graphics
through a rainbow metaphor where iconic adverts, posters and magazines were
displayed in three-dimensional, coloured spaces that acted as a clever visual hy-
pertext for the works on display.
