SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards
SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards has been renamed several times as each new iteration of
the tool has been released, so you may also hear Dashboards referred to as Xcelsius, or SAP
Crystal Dashboards. Dashboards facilitates interactive analysis of data using maps, charts,
graphs, slider bars for what-if projections, and other custom objects. While Dashboards is
commonly used as a tool for interactive data analysis, due to the flexibility and power of
SAP Design Studio, Dashboards will likely lose market share to Design Studio in the near
future. A sample dashboard is shown in Figure 3.6.
Users can connect to your company's SAP BW using the Business Intelligence Consumer
Services (BICS) connections, through universes created in the Information Design Tool,
and even through Web Services with a Query as a Web Service (QAAWS) connection.
SAP HANA enhances the power of Dashboards by displaying large volumes of data more
quickly than ever before.
