An island institution, Hamura's is a hole-in-the-wall specializing in
homemade saimin (local-style noodle soup). Expect crowds at lunchtime, slurping
noodles elbow-to-elbow at retro, U-shaped lunch counters, and save room for the other

A dedicated gluten-free bakery operating out of a rather cute storefront. Here are
macaroons, shortbread cookies, pans of chocolate brownies, a host of muffins and cakes,
as well as a few breakfast and lunch mains. It's popular for a reason.
Feral Pig

Kalapaki pub and diner with a strong local following. They have 10 local beers and
Guinness on tap, and serve popular breakfasts and a massive (and quite delectable) bur-
ger made from locally raised beef.
Kauaʻi Pasta
ITALIAN $$$
rally located Italian bistro is your ticket to surprisingly good Italian food. Colorful salads
meld diverse flavors, such as peppery arugula, creamy goat cheese and sweet tomatoes.
Hot focaccia sandwiches, classic pasta mains and luscious tiramisu would pass muster
with mainland foodies. Pasta is homemade and they also serve gluten-free noodles.

Duke's dominates the Kalapaki Beach dining scene. The steak-and-
seafood menu is none too innovative, but the fish tacos (served in their lively and invit-
ing
Barefoot Bar
and priced to move on Taco Tuesdays) are always a winner and the at-
mosphere is generally lively. Expect a touristy crowd.
