Got a need for speed? The Kaʻanapali course
takes you two miles up the wooded cliffsides of the West Maui mountains and sets you
off on a free-glide along eight separate lines above waterfalls, stream beds and green val-
leys. Eco-stewardship is a mission of the company and guides discuss local flora and
fauna. If it's drizzly and breezy? Hold on tight and no cannonballs!

Of the two courses, the more de-
manding is the
Royal Kaʻanapali Golf Course
, designed by Robert Trent Jones. It's
tournament grade with greens that emphasize putting skills. The
Kaʻanapali Kai Golf
Course
is shorter and more of a resort course. The setting isn't as spectacular as the
courses in Kapalua, but it tends to be less windy and the greens fees are lower.
If you're a guest at a hotel or condo in the Kaʻanapali Resort, ask for the guest rate,
which will save you about $50.

Enjoy stellar stargazing atop the Hyatt
resort. These 50-minute viewings, which are open to non-guests, are limited to 14
people, use a 16in-diameter telescope and are held at 8pm and 9pm on clear nights. Ro-
mantic types should opt for the couples-only viewing at 10pm Friday and Saturday,
which rolls out champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries ($45 per person).

Year' by the USTA, this is the largest tennis complex in West Maui, with four courts lit
