In-Depth Information
The 3D control arrows appear in a transparent panel on the top left of the
workspace by default. When you roll over the arrows with the mouse, the
panel header appears at the top of the 3D arrows, and includes the following
features:
1. You can move the arrows around the screen for more lexibility by
clicking and dragging the arrows' gray header.
2. The arrows' top left icon lets you minimize the arrows so that they appear
as three links to represent the three dimensions. You can maximize the
arrows again by clicking on the minimized arrows.
3. At the top right of the arrows' header, the zoom icon allows you to
change the size of the arrows.
Once you select any of the 3D tools, all the control features in the arrows
become available. Each of the three arrows includes the following controllers
to control the 3D objects.
Moving
You can use the arrow tip to move the object over speciic directions. When
you roll over the arrow tip, it turns to yellow to indicate that it is activated.
When you scroll between any of the arrows near the center cube, a yellow
square shows that you can move the 3D object along only the two directions
surrounding this yellow square.
Let's use the 3D-Axis tool to change the position of the 3D car model:
1. Open 3car.psd.
2. Select the 3D Object tool; the 3D-Axis tool appears on the workspace.
3. Roll over the green arrow tip; it will change to yellow to indicate that it is
activated.
4. Drag up and down to move the car model.
You can follow these steps with the other arrows as well.
Rotating
When you roll over the small rotation curve under the arrow tip, a yellow
circle indicates the orbit that the object will rotate around. Start rotating
the object by dragging the rotation part of the arrow around the circle.
You will notice that the whole arrow rotates with the mouse movement,
as well as the object. Apply the previous steps on the 3D car model to
rotate it:
1. Open 3car.psd.
2. Select the 3D Object tool; the 3D-Axis tool appears on the workspace.
