The 3D Camera Control Tools
The 3D camera tools (Figure 5.6) let you control the camera, not the object.
It may be bit confusing because some results are typically the same and it
is hard to igure out whether the results are based on any of them. But it
is important to know that the 3D camera tools control only the camera
that views the object to be able to see the diference between these tools
and the 3D object control tools. Using the 3D Camera tools including the
object as part of a scene. So it changes the object's properties, such as
position and rotation, in addition to changing the 3D ground plane for
the object.
When you click and hold your mouse over the 3D Camera tools, the
hidden tools are revealed: these include the 3D Orbit, 3D Roll, 3D
Pan, 3D Walk, and 3D Zoom tools. These are briely described in the
following sections; I will cover them in more detail in Chapter 10, in
the coverage of the 3D camera in Photoshop.
3D Orbit Tool
The 3D Orbit tool rotates the camera around the object in any of the
three dimensions; you can change the camera orbit using the 3D
controls the same way I described previously for the 3D Rotation
tool. You can also change the 3D orbit of the camera through the
numerical values as well.

3D Roll Tool
The 3D Roll tool rotates the camera over the Z direction similar to the 3D Roll
tool mentioned earlier.
3D Pan Tool
The 3D Pan tool works similar to the 3D Pan tool. The only diference is that
when you pan the camera in one direction, the object moves to the other to
indicate that the camera is what is moving (not the object). This tool can be
used in animation to create a pan animation with the camera moving across
the object either horizontally or vertically.
3D Walk Tool
The 3D Walk View tool is used to move the camera toward or away from
the object. It is useful in animation when you would like to walk through a
scene and give the viewer the impression of walking to or away from the
3D model.
