In-Depth Information
The previous three examples demonstrated each type of light separately.
This is not the usual way to use light, as light in the real world comes from
diferent sources at the same time and afects the object diferently. The
following example merges the three types of lights in Photoshop to create a
complete light efect on the 3D objects in the scene.
Here's an exercise in how to use the three types of light to apply dramatic
light efects on a scene, which here includes an old candle that lights an old
topic on a table with a dark background. First we will create the 3D scene
that we will apply the light efect to:
1. Create a New Photoshop ile with a black background.
2. Create a new layer and add the Cube Warp model via 3D > New Shape
From Layer.
3. In the 3D panel, choose the Material section.
4. Click the icon next to the Difuse value. Choose Load Texture and load
wood.jpg.
5. Use the 3D Rotate tool to rotate the cube as in Figure 9.9 to act as the
tabletop.
6. Choose New Layer from 3D File and navigate to the chapter's iles on the
DVD; select Book.obj.
7. Place the topic model on the table.
8. Choose New Layer from 3D File and navigate to the chapter's iles on the
DVD; select Candle.obj.
9. Place the 3D candle model on the table as in Figure 9.9.
