Many 3D printing system manufacturers like 3D Systems, Stratasys, EOS etc. are also ma-
terial manufacturers, these companies are not listed in this section.
Allied Photochemical : This American company is a manufacturer of UV curable inks,
paints and coatings as well as photopolymers for stereolithography 3D printing.
Argen : Argen is the world's largest producer of dental gold in the world, it also produces
other metal alloys and polymers for dental use. Argen Digital is specialized in additive man-
ufacturing of dental bridges etc.
Arkema : Arkema is large French company with three business segments: coating solutions,
industrial chemicals and performance products. The company has over 14 000 employees in
over 40 countries and is listed on the Paris stock exchange. The 3D printing materials part
of the company is very small, therefore it is not included under the listed companies sec-
tion. Arkema entered the Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) plastic powders market in 2012
and their subsidiary Sartomer offers photopolymers for material jetting 3D printers.
Ceralink : American Ceralink has developed 3D printable silicon carbide which can be used
in ultra-high temperature surrounding and for jet engine components.
Cookson Precious Metals : Cookson Precious Metals or Cooksongold is UK's largest sup-
plier of precious metals for the jewelry industry. Cooksongold has designed a 3D printer for
gold, Precious M 080, together with EOS. Cooksongold is one of very few companies in the
world that supplies precious metal powder for 3D printing.
DSM Somos : DSM Somos is specialized in manufacturing stereolithography photopolymer
resins, with around a dozen different varieties. DSM group is a multinational company with
Dutch roots engaged in health, nutrition and materials.
Evonik : Evonik is a large German company, their main business is chemicals. The company
has over 30 000 employees and activities in over 100 countries. Evonik produces plastic
powder for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS). Evonik is one of the biggest producers of PA 12,
or Nylon, which they market under the brand name “Vestamid”. A fire in one of Evonik's
plants in March 2012 caused a supply crisis for SLS plastics. New material companies have
entered the market since then, and Evonik has more competition now.
