Distribution Points for Information
Once you have gathered together marketing information on your business,
that information needs to be located where tourists are most likely to search
for it. Key locations include the following.
Tourist information offices
Tourist information centres are ideal connection points between food tourism
venues and tourists. Many tourists use tourist information offices as their
first 'port of call' when they arrive in a new region.
Tourist information centres are located at many international airports,
hotels and national landmarks around the world.
Most tourist regions also have a tourist information office in local towns
in the region, and it is critical that a tourism-centred business ensures these
offices are aware of their business, how it operates, when it is open and what
facilities it provides. A culinary business needs to be 'top of mind' when
team members in the information office are talking to visitors about where
to spend their leisure time. If a network package between a group of food
tourism ventures is on offer there is more chance that the package will be
promoted rather than a single location.
