OV-6b
Operational state
transition
description
One of three products used to describe
operational activity—identiies business process
responses to events
These are the worklows and tasks. The response
to events is response to inputs. Identify the risks
associated with the inputs, input sources, input
formats, input timeliness, input quality, input
trust, etc.
OV-6c
Operational event-
trace description
One of three products used to describe
operational activity—traces actions in a scenario
or sequence of events
The OV-6c is akin to a process map to convey a
sequence of events to accomplish a task. OV-6a,
OV-6b, and OV-6c describe operations in
progressively more detail. IA 2 accommodates
examining risks at these various detail levels. The
IA 2 views apply at any level, and the ECF provides
an enterprise context for entities (technology),
actors (people and collectives), and actions
(business functions, worklows, tasks).
OV-7
Logical data model
Documentation of the system data requirements
and structural business process rules of the
operational view
The IA 2 provides narrative regarding risks
surrounding data and data requirements. The IA
core principles provide a framework within which
to articulate the business drivers for IA and how
IA satisies those business drivers.
Systems view
(SV)
The SV is a set of graphical and textual products
that describes systems and interconnections
providing for, or supporting, organizational
functions. Organizational functions include both
the core mission and business support functions.
The SV associates systems resources to the OV.
These systems resources support the operational
activities and facilitate the exchange of
information among operational nodes.
IA 2 provides insight into risks from a systems view.
The SV is a more technical focus than the OV. The
SV looks at systems, systemic structure, system
interactions, and policies driving systems. Note:
Standards deining what to use for systems are the
technical view, not the SV.
