To pair a Mac to a Bluetooth device:
1. Launch System Preferences (choose Apple > System Preferences or click the System Prefer-
ences icon in the Dock).
2. Go to the Bluetooth system preference.
3. Check the boxes next to On and Discoverable.
4. Make your Bluetooth device is turned on. Some devices have a button or other control to
enter pairing mode (see the user manual); put the Bluetooth device in pairing mode.
5. Click the Add button (the + icon) at the bottom of the Bluetooth system preference. In a few
seconds, the Bluetooth device should appear in the list of Bluetooth devices.
6. Select your speaker in the Bluetooth Setup Assistant dialog box that appears (see Figure
3-18) and click Continue.
7. The device may automatically connect. Otherwise, the Bluetooth Setup Assistant will ask
you to enter a passcode or to confirm a passcode also shown on the device or noted in its
manual. Consult the device's manual for how it pairs.
8. Click Quit.
