Day trips from Split are a popular thing to do since it is so well located for islands and other
towns. The most easily accessible and closest town to Split is Solin, known for its Roman
ruins. Further afield, but with more in the way of sightseeing attractions and restaurants, is
the historic town of Trogir, a 40 minute bus or ferry ride north of Split.
