GOLF AND TENNIS
Denarau Golf Club 675 9711, denaraugolf.fiji-golf.net . A long, flat course, well-man-
icured with virtually no rough but lots of fish-shaped bunkers, canals coming into play and
large fast greens. Book ahead in high season. Daily 6.30am-6.30pm; F$145 including com-
pulsory golf cart, club hire F$65, shoe hire F$15; slightly discounted rates for guests staying
at any of the Denarau resorts. The club also has four all-weather synthetic tennis courts and
six grass courts, with lessons available by the hour. Daily 7am-9pm; F$35 per hr.
ISLAND CRUISES
Exploring the offshore islands of the Mamanucas on a day-trip can either be experienced
aboard an elegant yacht or by zooming out to the island resorts by fast catamaran.
SAILING CRUISES
PJ's Ultimate Sailing & Snorkelling Experience Port Denarau 672 5022, pjfishsail-
fiji.com . Sailing, snorkelling, island-hopping and fishing on board three-masted yacht Pelor-
us Jack . The crew point out seahorses and stingrays, as well as singing traditional songs and

Ra Marama Port Denarau 670 1823. Most affordable of the sailing cruises, aboard a
charming square-rigged vessel which cruises along the Viti Levu coast to the tiny coral island
of Tivua, where you can spend five hours day-dreaming, lounging in the lagoon and snor-
kelling. 10am-5pm; F$97 includes BBQ lunch.
Seaspray Port Denarau 675 0500, ssc.com.fj . Two-part tour, with the first leg catching
the South Sea Cruise fast catamaran to Mana Island, where you transfer to a double-mast
schooner venturing to the outer Mamanucas. It takes almost 3hr travel time from Nadi, but
you do get to walk on the fine white sands of Modriki, one of the locations of the film Cast-
away , starring Tom Hanks. You also visit the traditional fishing village of Yanuya, where a
shell market and kava ceremony are put on by the locals (daily except Sun). 9am-6pm; F$209
includes BBQ lunch, local beer and wine.

er offers a day of indulgence - sipping wine whilst sightseeing around the protected waters
of the inner Coral Islands and anchoring at an uninhabited island for a gourmet lunch and
