DEEP-SEA FISHING
The Malolo Barrier Reef, 20km southwest of Port Denarau, is a great spot for deep-sea fish-
ing, best in the early hours of the morning. Sailfish, tuna and walu are the prize game, with
giant trevally and barracuda good casting fish.

DIVING AND SNORKELLING
Nadi Bay's murky waters, spoiled by run-off from the surrounding hills, are unsuitable for
diving or snorkelling. For both, you need to travel at least 20min offshore, which takes you
to the excellent dive sites of the Mamanucas - the further away from the mainland, the bet-
ter the water clarity and more vibrant the coral reefs. Dive boats depart from Port Denarau,
Wailoaloa Beach and Vuda Marina.
