ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: SAVUSAVU
BY PLANE
Airport Flying in to Savusavu Airport involves a dramatic descent over the hills to land at a
short runway fronting the ocean. Pacific Sun flies in several times daily from Nadi and Suva.
Getting into town It's a 5min ride from the airport to town. Buses run hourly (F$1); other-
wise a taxi will cost F$4.50.
Destinations Matei (1 weekly; 20min); Nadi Airport (5 daily; 1hr); Nausori, Suva (2 daily;
45min).
BY BOAT
Ferries Passenger and car ferries arrive at Savusavu Wharf, a 5min walk west of the town
centre.
Destinations Lautoka, Viti Levu (2 weekly; 11hr 30min); Natovi Landing, Viti Levu (3
weekly; 7hr); Suva, Viti Levu (3 weekly; 12hr); Wairiki Wharf, Taveuni (5 weekly; 4hr
30min).
Private yachts If you are arriving by private yacht you should contact Customs House
(Mon-Fri 8am-1pm & 2-5pm; 885 0727, VHF16) on the west side of Main Street. There
are three privately run marinas running east-west: Waitui Marina ( 885 30301, waitu-
imarina@connect.com.fj ) , The Copra Shed ( 885 0457, coprashed.com ) and Bosun's
Locker ( 885 0122, curly@connect.com.fj ) . All offer moorings costing from F$8 to F$12
per day depending on the season, with weekly and monthly rates available.
BY BUS
All buses arrive at and depart from the Savusavu bus stand.
