Hospital 650 0455. On a side road off the Queens Rd, 1km west of town towards Nadi.
Internet access Net Café (Mon-Fri 9am-4.45pm, Sat 9am-12.45pm, 20 cents a minute) has
broadband.
Police 650 0222. The main station is at Lawaqa, west of the town centre, but there's a po-
lice post on the Valley Rd opposite Morris Hedstrom.

adequately furnished with ceiling fans and some with a/c; on th e mi ddle flo or ar e three dorm

EATING AND DRINKING
Raj's Curry House Queens Rd, beside the Total Station 650 1470; map . This is the locals'
favourite, tiny and a little grubby, but with goat or duck curry on the bone costing F$16 and
six simple vegetarian dishes for around F$9 you get a good sample of Fiji-Indian food here.
Avoid the pre-cooked meals from the counter. Mon-Sat 8am-9pm.
Sigatoka Club True Blue Hotel, Queens Rd; map . You can play snooker with the locals here
on a full-sized table (20 cents a game) or enjoy a F$4 beer. Daily 7am-11pm.
True Blue Restaurant Queens Rd 650 1530; map . Situated beneath the True Blue Hotel ,
this large restaurant has direct access from beside the Sigatoka bridge. Mostly Indian fla-
vours, but some Fijian and Chinese dishes too. The delicious masala crab will set you back
F$47; alternatively the chicken biryani or vegetarian thali are around F$17 and filling. There
are tranquil views overlooking the river, plenty of tables and a bar. Daily 7am-11pm.
Vilisite's Lawaqa Creek 650 1030; map . Don't let the naff interior put you off - the sea-
food here is pretty good, especially the fried octopus in coconut cream and the curry prawns
(both around F$35). Cheaper blackboard specials range from F$15 to F$25. Licensed. They
also operate the neighbouring ice cream and drink shack. Daily 9am-9pm.
