In-Depth Information
Once the operation modes timetable setup is complete, the next step is to create new in-
stance and operation mode assignments by using transaction code RZ04 and press the F6
button. This will bring up a screen where the hostname and the start and instance profiles
must be entered. On saving this information, the system will prompt you to assign an opera-
tion mode to the instance and make changes to the work process distribution. Please note
that changing the number of work processes is a little tricky in terms of working the inter-
face. In order to increase or decrease the number of work processes of a given kind, put your
cursor on the line where you want to increase the number of work processes and keep click-
ing the + button as shown. This will increase the number of work processes your cursor is in
while simultaneously decreasing the number from the other work processes. You can de-
crease the number of work processes by using the − button.

Please remember that the starting point for these changes is based on the current config-
uration of the work processes in the instance profile and the total number of work processes
will be unchanged. The following illustration shows the screen output when the assignment
of an instance to a day and night operation mode and work process distribution is com-
pleted.
