folk. In the daytime the “Centre” feels more like a relaxed café with its big window seats,
but it turns livelier later as the music and the crowds arrive. Good salads and sandwiches.

time motorcycle repair shop (the name means “clutch”) is accessed via a graffiti-splattered

major ruin bars, though a little more clean-cut, this massive complex centres around a bistro-
like lounge, to the side of which is a small bar and stage, where there is regular live music.
In May the brick wall at the back is ceremoniously knocked down, opening up an enorm-
ous gravel-bedded garden.

There's not much by
way of a sign on the tatty metal door, but go through and you'll find yourself in a verdant
yard, with the bar straight ahead, and a room with sofas and table football off to the left. The
“Spare Key” is a laid-back kind of place with a reputation built largely on the strength of its
live music programme, ranging from klezmer and Roma bands to underground, folk and jazz.
