Note When it comes to washers, you should learn to treat them as an “as needed” piece of hardware. Most of
the time you won't need them. But every now and then you may have a hole that is slightly larger (due to shaking
of the drill, for example) and thus requires a washer. We recommend purchasing a small number of #6, #8, and
1/4” washers for the various machine screws you'll use throughout this project.

Note The washers are optional; you may or may not find them necessary. If the #6 nuts are getting pulled down
into the holes you drilled, use the washers to prevent this.
