On the top floor of the Museu d'Història de Catalunya, 1881 serves excellent seafood plates
to lovely views over the waterfront. Feel free to send away the unordered bread baskets and
hors d'oeuvres, as these will be added to your bill. You can also stop in for coffee at the
small cafe attached.
Poblenou, Port Olímpic & El Fòrum
The Port Olímpic marina is lined on two sides by dozens of restaurants and tapas bars, pop-
ular in spring and summer but mostly underwhelming. A more upmarket series of places
huddles at the northeast end of Platja de la Barceloneta - it's hard to beat the sand, sea and
palm-tree backdrop. Otherwise, the search for culinary curios will take you behind the
scenes in El Poblenou, where a few nuggets glitter.

First opened back in 1912 (in El Born), this local icon is famed for its horchata, a sweet and
refreshing if somewhat grainy drink made of tigernut milk. Some love it, others less so,
though you can also opt for sandwiches, ice cream and other homemade beverages.

standing, with a mix of salads, fondues, smoked meats, cheeses, and open-faced sandwiches
piled high with delicacies like wild mushrooms and brie, escalivada (grilled vegetables) and
gruyère, and spicy chorizo.
