best. Fish standards, such as sea bass and monkfish

clams, crayfish and other delights.

The clan that brought you Escribà sweets and pastries also operates one of Barcelona's most
popular waterfront seafood eateries. This is one of the few places where one person can or-
der from a selection of paella and
fideuà
(normally reserved for a minimum of two people).
You can also choose from a selection of Escribà pastries for dessert - worth the trip alone.

Port Vell & La Barceloneta
The northeastern end of the beach on the Barceloneta waterfront near Port Olímpic is a
pleasant corner of evening chic that takes on a balmy, almost Caribbean air in the warmer
months. A selection of restaurant-lounges and trendy bar-clubs vies for your attention.
Several other attractive options are scattered about away from this core of night-time enter-
tainment.

This lofty old champagne bar has long been run on a winning formula. The standard poison
