9. Round the top and bottom of the glass
portion, giving it a slightly larger edge
than you did on the top of the cap (Fig-
ure 5-60).
10. We're almost done! Select the points at
the top of the stand and round them
with a medium-sized edge. Then select
the points at the bottom of the stand
and give them a small- to medium-
sized edge (Figure 5-61).
11. Finally, move the cap down so that its
sides touch the glass. Move the base
up so that it does the same. Then move
the stand up so that it rests just below
the base.
From here you can surface the lamp and
use metaballs to create the blobby wax
objects (which is what I've done). If you
want to animate the lava, you can use
HyperVoxels. (For more information about
HyperVoxels, see Chapter 18.) The final
textured lava lamp is available on the CD
for your inspection.
