In-Depth Information
Adding Apps to the Home screens
Open the App Drawer and scroll to find the desired app. Then long-press and drag it to
the desired home screen. The icon grid, which controls where icons will be, appears in the
background. You can drag right and left to access other Home screens. Move the icon to
the desired location and lift your finger. The icon will snap to the nearest opening on the
icon grid. If another icon is in the way, bump it with the new icon and the other icon will
move out of the way.
Moving Apps
Go to the Home screen with the app you wish to move, then long-press and drag it to the
new position, bumping other icons out of the way if necessary. Then lift your finger.
Creating App Folders
You can organize apps into folders so they stack on top of each other and take up less room
on the screen, both on the Home screens and in the Favorites Tray.
To create a folder, just move an app directly on top of another app until a blue circle appears
around the icons. Then lift your finger. The folder is created, showing one app on top and
the others behind. You can drag as many apps as you like into a folder.
To access the apps in the folder, tap to expand it. You can move the apps around within
the folder by long-pressing them and dragging them. Remove an app from the folder by
dragging it out of the folder to the Home screen. You can remove an entire folder when it
is closed by long-pressing and dragging it to the X at the top of the screen.
You can also name the folder when it is expanded by tapping “Unnamed Folder” at the
bottom of the folder, then entering a name with the virtual keyboard. This name shows up
when the folder is closed. For example, you could move all your photography apps into a
folder and name it “Photo”.
Removing Apps
To remove an app from the Home screen, long-press it and drag it up to the X at the top
of the screen until it turns red. Then release your finger. Again, this only removes the app
from your Home screen and not from the device.
