having to unlock the screen
Home Screen
The Home screen can be customized in many different ways to suit your preferences. Some
people like to see all the apps that they regularly use, while others prefer a cleaner screen.
You can have more than one Home screen and Favorites tray and access them by swiping,
and you can install a new launcher to add more customization to the Home screens and Fa-
vorites trays.
Wallpaper
The background of the Home and lock screens can be changed by long-pressing a blank
area of the screen until a dialog pops up. By default, you can choose from Photos, Wall-
papers, and Live Wallpapers. If you have other wallpapers installed, you can choose from
them also.
Static wallpapers consist of an unchanging image, while live wallpapers have animation
and elements that update. An example of a live wallpaper is Weatherbug Elite ( http://bit.ly/

Multiple Home Screens
The stock Android launcher has five home screens, which are accessed by swiping left and
right. You can always return to the main Home screen by tapping the Home icon. You can
add, remove, and rearrange apps and widgets on the Home screens. When you remove an
app or widget from the Home screens, it is not removed from the device. You can always
access all of your installed apps and widgets from the Apps Drawer.
Apps
Installing Apps
When you install an app from the Play Store, it always appears in the App Drawer, and may
automatically appear on the Home screen, depending on your settings.
