vampire family in the films, it is still a lovely place to stay. Decor is country-cute and
your hosts small-town friendly. Warm up your nights in the hot tub.
Huckleberry Lodge CABIN$$$
( 360-374-4090; www.huckleberryforks.com ; 1171 Big Pine Way; cabins $70-112; ) Tucked in-
to the woods a few minutes off Hwy 101, this place feels miles away but is conveniently
located very near the services of Forks. New-feeling cabins with sturdy wooden furniture
and country quilts have a range of kitchen facilities, and the biggest sleeps up to eight
people. Note that the smallest cabin has an outdoor bathroom. There's a hot tub, a sauna
and a fish-cleaning station too.
Eating
In Place DINER$$$
(320 S Forks Ave; sandwiches $5-8, mains around $16) Forks is no culinary Rome, meaning
you'll probably have to settle for this mediocre but friendly home-style-cooking place on
Hwy 101 opposite the Forks Motel. Burgers, serve-yourself salads and soups are offered
in well-worn booths. Save the best till last - a slice of bumbleberry pie.
