Texas Tech Sports
( www.texastech.com/tickets ) For alumni and most locals, Texas Tech's sports teams, the Red
Raiders, are a huge deal. Both the football team and the men's basketball team had great
success in the last decade, before controversies caused high-profile coaches Mike Keach
and Bobby Knight to move on.
The last seasons have been notably less succesful although that hasn't stopped the
school from constantly expanding the football venue, Jones AT&T Stadium (current capacity
about 61,000).
Football tickets are mostly sold for the entire season although if the team is faring
poorly you may find individual tickets. Basketball games are much easier to buy on the
same day.
