GUADALUPE RIVER STATE PARK
Thirty miles north of San Antonio, this exceptionally beautiful
park

stretch of the sparklingly clear, bald-cypress-lined Guadalupe River, and it's great for canoeing and tubing. There
are also 3 miles of hiking trails through the park's almost 2000 acres. Two-hour guided tours of the nearby Honey
Creek State Natural Area are included in the price of admission. The tours leave at 9am on Saturday morning
from the Guadalupe ranger station.

to mean to visit Wimberley.' A popular weekend spot for Austinites, this artists' commu-
nity gets absolutely jam-packed during summer weekends - especially on the first
Saturday of each month from April to December, when local art galleries, shops and artis-

Even on weekends when there's no market, there are plenty of shops to visit, stocked
with antiques, gifts, and local arts and crafts. You can also taste olive oil in one of the
state's only commercial olive orchards, eat expertly baked homemade pies or simply kick
back at one of the many B&Bs along the creek.
