Devil's Backbone
For excellent scenic views of the limestone hills surrounding Wimberley, take a drive on
FM 32, otherwise known as the Devil's Backbone. From Wimberley, head south on RR 12
to FM 32, then turn right toward Fischer and Canyon Lake. The road gets steeper, then
winds out onto a craggy ridge (the 'backbone') with a 360-degree vista.

One of the Hill Country's best swimming
holes, this is a privately owned spot in the calm, shady and crystal-clear waters of Cypress
Creek. To get here from Wimberley, head down Hwy 12 south of the square, turn left on
County Rd 173, and then after another half-mile, turn onto the access road between a
church and cemetery.

quarter-mile east of the square, this motel has large rooms at a fair price. Standard rooms
