Dixie is northeast of downtown San Antonio near the SBC Center. It's about as flashy as
your typical KOA campground and slightly cheaper, too.

On the western edge of town, this top-notch RV park with a junior Olympic-
size swimming pool and plenty of shade is convenient to
SeaWorld
, which runs a free
shuttle service to the campground during summer. Discounts are available for weekly
stays and association memberships (including AAA and AARP).

right, so you're not going for luxury. You're spending most of your time at SeaWorld
(only 1.2 miles away) anyway. This Super 8 motel is slightly nicer than the norm, with an
outdoor pool, making it a decent base of operations.

Almost everything out near Six Flags is a chain, but this awesome little Hyatt
Place is one of the best. It's clean and fresh, with spacious rooms and a smartly modern
decor, and it's just 6 miles from the park. Flat-screen TVs, continental breakfast and free
computer access and printing make it a bargain.

Standard rooms are elegant but on the small side, so you'll enjoy
this resort most if you're willing to get out and take advantage of the six pools, three hot
tubs, golf course, tennis courts, health club and spa. Almost outside of town, the over-
whelming offerings might upstage your other sightseeing activities.
This place must be trying to break the world record for most hospitality awards ever:
Condé Nast Traveler, Golf Digest
and
AAA Four Diamond
are among those that have re-
cognized the destination property.
