Money-Saving Tips
Many Edinburgh restaurants, including the Michelin-starred ones, offer good lunch deals. Look
out also for 'early bird' specials (usually available between 5pm and 7pm).
All national museums and galleries are free, as are all Edinburgh city-council-owned museums.

New Year Bank Holiday 2 January

Safe Travel
Keep your passport, cash and credit cards separate.
Edinburgh is a relatively safe city, so exercising common sense should keep you safe.
Women should avoid crossing the Meadows (the park that lies between the Old Town
and Marchmont) alone after dark.
There are plenty of public phones in Edinburgh, operated by either coins, phonecards or
credit cards; phonecards are available in newsagents.
