Getting Around
Bus
Best for… getting around the city.
The main bus operators are Lothian Buses ( www.lothianbuses.com ) and First ( 663 9233;

www.travelinescotland.com ) .
Bus timetables, route maps and fare guides are posted at all main bus stops.

Travelshops.
Adult fares are £1.50 per single journey; purchase from the driver. Children aged under
five travel free and those aged five to 15 pay a flat fare of 70p.
Night-service buses ( www.nightbuses.com ) run hourly between midnight and 5am, flat
fare £3 for all-night travel.
Tram
Best for… getting to and from the airport.
Edinburgh's new tram system ( www.edinburghtrams.com ) is scheduled to begin service in
summer 2014.
The line runs from Edinburgh Airport to York Pl, at the top of Leith Walk, via Haymarket,
the West End and Princes St.
Tickets are integrated with the city's Lothian Buses, costing £1.50 for a single journey.
Trams should run every 12 minutes from the airport, every six minutes in the city centre.
