BUSES
Bus and subway information 718 330 1234 (daily 6am-10pm). New York's bus system
is clean and usually efficient. It is often extremely slow in peak hours, but it can be your best
bet for travelling crosstown. Pay on entry with a MetroCard ($2.50, express $6) or exact
fare in coins; you can transfer for free from subway to bus, bus to subway, or from bus to
bus, in one direction within two hours.
CITY TOURS

Circle Line Pier 83 at the end of W 42nd St at the West Side Highway 212 563 3200,

hop-off buses touring the main sights (around $44 for 24hr).

the Harlem jazz scene, minibus tours take in clubs and jazz history (from $99).

CYCLING
New York's bike share scheme is dubbed Citi Bike ( www.citibikenyc.com 24hr Pass is
$9.95, the 7-Day Pass is $25). Pay at any bike station kiosk with a credit card. Trips of less
