In-Depth Information
When addressing an email message, if you know the person's email
address, you can type it directly into the To, Cc, or Bcc field. As you
start typing, the email client's autocomplete feature may offer to fill in
the address for you. You can also select from your Contacts list, as shown
in the following Step by Step.
Step by Step
Addressing an Email Message from the Contacts List in Outlook 2010
Follow this procedure to look up email addresses in the Contacts list as you are composing a new email in Outlook
2010:
Click the Home tab, and click New Email. A new message composition window appears.
Click the To button. The Select Names: Contacts dialog box opens.
Click the name of the person to whom you want to address the email.
Click one of the buttons at the bottom of the dialog box to indicate the appropriate field in which to place the
person's email address: To, Cc, or Bcc.
Repeat Step 4 to add more recipients if desired.
Click OK to return to the message composition window and complete the email as you would normally.
Make sure you don't share others' contact information without permission. If you're sending an email to
multiple people, and you don't want them to see each other's addresses, put your own email address in
the To field and then put all the recipients' addresses in the Bcc field.
