Sun) Talk about phoenix from the flames; the plush As de Oro serves up spicy mashed
potato with octopus, plaice with butter and capers, and grilled prawns with fried yucca
and tartare sauce overlooking a small swimming pool, as the rest of the town struggles
back to its feet.
La Concha de Tus Mares $
(Calle Muelle 992; mains S15-25) Old pictures of what Pisco used to look like pre-2007
adorn the walls of this nostalgic place next to the Colegio Alexander Von Humboldt about
1km south of the center. The fish comes in big portions and is lauded by the locals.

lar because of it, the Dorado advertises no pretensions with its Nescafé granule coffee, ex-
cellent tres leche cake and simple but effective breakfasts on the main square.

als and tourists alike. It is also a showcase for artisanal wines and piscos. On weekends,
the crowds show up to dance to live Latin and rock tunes into the small hours.
