Greyhound (414/272-9949) is at the Amtrak station. Buses leave up to a dozen times daily
for Chicago; buses also go to Minneapolis, Madison, and certain points in central Wiscon-
sin.Afewotherintercitycoacheshaveofferedservicetosimilarareas,buttheirconsistency
in scheduling leaves much to be desired.
Up the street from the Greyhound station is the Badger Bus (635 N. James Lovell
St., 414/276-7490, www.badgerbus.com ). Buses leave this location for Madison nine times
daily (and nightly, depending on season). Badger Bus also serves Mitchell Field Interna-
tional Airport and heads for Minneapolis and St. Paul when universities are in session.
The Southwest Airlines of bus service, MegaBus (877/462-6342, ht-
tp://us.megabus.com ) runs from near the bus center in Milwaukee to Chicago, as well as
Minneapolis. Fares are around eighteen bucks to Chicago, but there are no ticket offices,
terminals, or sometimes service. It is imperative to check the website for pick-up informa-
tion.
By Train
Amtrak service between Milwaukee and Chicago is oft-debated but never seems to die.
With a multimillion-dollar facelift to its terminal, it looks to be good to go for a long time.

weekdays, $32 on the weekend. Service to Minneapolis is less imperiled; one train still
leaves daily. The Amtrak station (433 W. St. Paul Ave., 414/271-9037, www.amtrak.com )
also houses Greyhound.
Discussions have been endless about whether to link Chicago's Metra service through
Kenosha andRacine toMilwaukee and, possibly, outlying suburbs;it wouldbeslower than
Amtrak but also much cheaper.
