Local produce, a hip eating space and a talented chef make this one
of regional Victoria's more creative restaurants. The chestnut croquettes are a fine prelude
to the cinnamon-cured duck breast. The abundance of beer bottles and the laneway loca-
tion add to the sense of a designer eating (and, later, drinking) den for people in the know.

The food and atmosphere here is superb and rated highly by locals.
Confit pork belly and roasted kingfish grace the Mediterranean menu, or go for the innov-
ative pizza, pasta or tapas plates. The bar is a chilled place for a drink from the impressive

from around the world, Mason's is an agreeable mix of fine food and a great atmosphere
at any time of the day. Dishes might include beetroot gnocchi, roasted goat shoulder or
