In-Depth Information
6. As soon as all articles are transported to the platform, the order is
fulfilled and the status of the platform is changed to unassigned .
From the workers point of view, the workflow looks like this:
1. The worker receives a command which includes the point of origin
and destination of an article. New status: in use
2. The worker moves towards the point of origin and picks up the
article.
3. The worker transports the article to the destination and puts it
down. New status: available
Obviously, if an order consists of multiple articles the workflow for a
worker or forklift is executed multiple times.
Use case 2: Incoming order, some articles have to be reordered
Contrary to the use case 1, this use case is characterized by the fact
that not all required articles are available at the warehouse. From the
warehouse managers point of view, the workflow is the following:
1. Warehouse manager receives an order.
2. For all articles which are already available in the warehouse the
status is changed to reserved .
3. An available outgoing platform is selected and the status of this
platform is changed to assigned .
4. All missing articles are reordered.
5. As soon as the missing articles are delivered, they are transported
directly to the outgoing platform.
6. Depending on the ordered articles the warehouse manager com-
mands workers and forklifts to transport the articles from the
storage locations to the outgoing platform.
