8. As soon as all articles are transported to the outgoing platform,
the order is fulfilled and the status of the platform is changed to
unassigned .
Use case 3: Incoming articles Due to scheduled deliveries and
reorders of the warehouse manager, articles are regularly delivered to
the warehouse. In this case, the workflow of the warehouse manager
is the following:
A delivery truck arrives at an available incoming platform.
As long as storage locations are available, the warehouse manager
commands workers and forklifts to transport the articles from the
incoming platform to the storage locations.
As soon as all articles are transported to their storage locations,
the platform is available again for the next truck.
Model requirements
Structural elements
Warehouse: The warehouse setup is static, i. e., it does not change
within a simulation.
Workers and forklifts: The number of workers and forklifts is
constant.
Trucks: The incoming and outgoing trucks are not part of the
model.
Warehouse manager: The warehouse manager is a key element. He
is responsible for all activities in the warehouse, commands workers
and forklifts, organizes storage allocation and processes incoming
orders.
