GETTING AROUND LAKE COMO
Ferries and hydrofoils operated by Como-based Navigazione Lago del Como ( 800 55 18 01, 031 57 92 11;
www.navigazionelaghi.it ; Piazza Cavour) criss-cross the lake, departing year-round from the jetty at the north end
of Piazza Cavour. Single fares range from €2.50 (Como-Cernobbio) to €13 (Como-Lecco or Como-Gravedona).
Return fares are double. Hydrofoil fast services entail a supplement of €1.40 to €5, depending on the trip.
Car ferries connect Bellagio with Varenna and Cadenabbia. A whole host of other tickets is available, including
those for day cruises with lunch and those that include admission to lakeside villas.

Como) Open since 1919, this is the last remaining silk shop in town dedicated to selling
Como-designed-and-made silk products such as ties, scarves, throws and sarongs.
Products are grouped in price category (starting at €15 for a tie) reflecting the skill and
workmanship involved in each piece. Sales assistants are happy to advise on colours and
styles. If it's a gift, they'll also wrap it for you.

Getting There & Around
BUS
ASF Autolinee (SPT; 031 24 72 47; www.sptlinea.it ) operates buses around the lake. Key routes in-
clude Como-Colico (€6, 1½ hours, three to five daily) via the west shore; Como-Bellagio
(€3.20, 70 minutes, roughly hourly); and Como-Erba-Lecco (€3.20, one hour, almost
hourly). Further afield, buses link Como with Bergamo (€6, 2¼ hours, up to six daily).
