A good deal at
the southeastern tip of Baie Ste Anne. Features a clutch of A-framed bungalows and villas
perched on a hillside cloaked in green, with glorious views over La Digue. The Colibri
bungalows are slightly hipper than the no-frills Chalets Côté Mer. Aim for the Colibri,
Magpie, Fairytern, Katiti or Kato, which are the best laid out. Note that the cheaper units
are fan-cooled. Lovers of fine food will enjoy the cooking here - the French owner, René
Parmentier, has made a name as an adept chef (half board from €130 for two). There's no
beach but snorkelling is excellent along the rocky shore. Minimum three nights.

The four rooms, although they won't
knock your socks off, are comfortable and come fully equipped, and each has a balcony or
a terrace that commands a blue-green lagoon vista. Downsides: it's not shielded from the
noise of the coast road, and there's no air-con. Breakfast is €10.
