the beach. Despite the fact that the property feels a tad compact, the location is ace; you

pleasant oasis, despite the lack of sea views and the odd landscaping of the compound.
Run by friendly Edwin and Sybille, it features six uncomplicated and smallish but neat
rooms as well as eight spacious bungalows. The woodcarved posts on the terrace are a
nice touch. It's well worth opting for half board (from €165 for two), given the attached
high-quality restaurant.

This
little island of subdued glamour, a
coco fesse
throw from the beach, ranks as one of the
most solid options on Praslin. The generous-sized, sensitively furnished rooms come with
all mod cons and orbit around an alluring pool and a nicely laid-out tropical garden.
Another plus is the onsite restaurant - a range of good-value meal plans are available. For
more privacy, book one of the four colonial-style rooms that are just beside the main prop-
erty. If only it had ocean views, life would be perfect.

This re-
sort occupies a large, nicely landscaped plot by the beach, at Anse Gouvernement (the
eastern tip of Anse Volbert). Squeezed in between the spacious, stand-alone, split-level
units are a swimming pool and a restaurant. The walk up to the highest bungalows may
leave the terminally unfit short of breath. Naturally, you'll find all the usual resort facilit-
ies onsite. The beach isn't the best here, somewhat narrow at high tide and fairly shallow.
