They're small but cute and tidy, and there's a cosy lounge area. Ask for a room with a

. Mon
Ti Caze Creol is a genuine old Creole villa with absolutely bundles of character. It shelters
three rooms that share bathrooms and a spick-and-span modern kitchen. The whole house
is clean as a whistle and it's super central. Nice extra: towels are provided. The whole
house can be rented for €160/200 for four/six people. An excellent deal.

Head to this homely
camp site, in the hamlet of Îlet-à-Vidot, about 2km northwest of Hell-Bourg, if you're
after a peaceful setting to pitch your tent within a grassy property. The ablution block is in
good nick and there's a kitchen for guests' use. Laurent, the sporty owner (he's the local
fireman and has run the Grand Raid race), can take you to various scenic spots in the area
and provide you with a wealth of information (alas, in French) about local plants and ar-
chitecture.
