Canyoning
The canyoning options available in the Cirque will make your spine tingle. Get wet at
Trou Blanc, which is said to be the most 'aquatic' canyon in Réunion, with lots of tobog-
gans (plunging down water-polished chutes) and leaps. Some sections are appropriately
named 'The Washing Machine', 'The Bath', 'The Aquaplaning'… Another reputable
canyon is Voile de la Mariée, near Salazie, which is a more aerial circuit that includes a
50m rappel. Note that these canyons are not accessible during the rainiest months (from
December to March).
Alpanes

fers canyoning trips to Trou Blanc, Voile de la Mariée. Count on €45/65 for a half-/full-
day excursion.

Has canyoning trips to Trou Blanc and Trou de Fer (from Hell-Bourg), as well as guided
hikes to Forêt de Bébour-Bélouve (€50). A half-/full-day canyoning outing will set you

This gîte , set in a Creole house, has all the hallmarks of a great deal: well-maintained (if a
bit boxy) rooms that can sleep six people, well-scrubbed bathrooms, a tranquil location
and a tab that won't burn a hole in your pocket. For those wanting more privacy, three ad-
joining doubles, with wood-panelled walls, are available. They're fairly compact and
share bathrooms. The owner, Patrick Manoro, is a mine of local knowledge and occasion-
