In-Depth Information
The Tolerance type defines the way in which the features such as holes and cuts are located
with reference to datum feature.
The Plus and Minus option adds location dimensions with + and - tolerances.
The Geometric option uses Geometric Tolerance symbols to represent the positions of fea-
tures such as holes and cuts. The type of GD&T symbols used will be based on the Part
type . For example, if you set the Part type to Prismatic , the Position symbol will be used
to locate a hole. However, if the Part type is set to Turned , the Circular Runout symbol
will be used to position a hole.
Next, you need to define the datum features. A datum is used as a reference to measure the
location, shape, and size of a feature. A datum can be a surface, point, or axis.
