resort is highly popular with families. Tidy, tiled one- and two-bedroom units surround a

and water sports. A complimentary bus runs into town. To get here, take East Sunrise Hwy
west, then turn left on East Beach Dr, then left again at Silver Point Dr.
Flamingo Bay Hotel & Marina MOTEL $

$99; ) The sibling to Taino Beach Resort & Club, this old-fashioned stucco motel
has beachy little tiled efficiencies overlooking a not-so-scenic marina.
EATING
Hotels tend to have at least one in-house cafe or restaurant, while resorts offer a choice of
casual and formal dining rooms and bars, which are always open to nonguests. There are a
heap of both formal and informal places to eat in the Port Lucaya Marketplace; on week-
ends the atmosphere is enlivened by the live music or DJs in Count Basie Sq.

dinner) You'll hardly spot a non-Bahamian face in this huge, fluorescent-lit dining room,
popular with locals for traditional breakfasts, such as pig's feet souse and sardines and grits.
Lunch means cracked conch or fish sandwiches, while dinner features massive portions of
fish, chicken or steak.
