Boat Excursions
Grand Bahama has no dearth of trips offering underwater sightseeing, beach parties, on-
board dining, dancing and partying. Most hotels have booking desks for these tours. If
your hotel doesn't, walk into the nearest one and book from there. Transfers are usually
provided. If your time on the island is limited, see Tours, Click here , as some operators
combine land and water excursions.

Bahama's most crowded beach. You won't lack for action here - go parasailing,
snorkel, get your hair braided, or order a bowl of conch salad at Billy Joe's. If
you seek solitude, walk west. Crowds thin and views expand as you approach
Silver Point, which is especially nice at sunset.
» Taino Beach The island's second most popular beach, this postcard-perfect
stretch of white sand has ample parking and a handful of seafood shacks. Shoot
the breeze with conch stand proprietor Tony Macaroni, or spend a day lounging
and snorkeling at Junkanoo Beach Club ( Click here ). Taino's just across the Bell
Channel from Port Lucaya Marketplace; to get here, either drive or take the ferry
from behind Pelican Bay.
» Churchill Beach/Fortune Beach East of Taino, Churchill and Fortune
Beaches are equally glorious, but far less crowded. The patch of sand directly in
front of the Wyndham is guests-only, but everyone's welcome at the nearby Mar-
garitaville Sandbar.
» Xanadu Beach Dominated by the decaying Xanadu Resort, where eccentric
millionaire Howard Hughes spent the last years of his life holed up in the pent-
house, Xanadu Beach is far enough from Port Lucaya to keep the crowds thin,
