5.
Close the
IBM Cognos Viewer
window to return to IBM Cognos Report Studio.
Our three-query union is completed and the results are in a bar chart.
We will enhance the report with additional modifications to the chart and queries to show-
case page breaking of the multidimensional containers (in this case, charts).
Step 8: Enhance the Queries with Retailer Type Information
The chart by itself looks good, but the report request needs to look at how our different retailer
types are performing in the number of days to close sales.
1.
Mouse over the
Query Explorer
tab and click on the
0-10
query to access the data items.
We will add retailer type information to each of the union queries and place them in the
same position in all three queries in order to avoid having to modify
Union
properties
and project the data item names.
2.
From the
Source
tab of the
Insertable Objects
pane, drag the
Retailer type
query item
from the
Retailer type
query subject into the
Data Items
pane, above the
Date
data item.
IBM COGNOS 8 NOTE
The
Retailer type
query item is found in the
Retailer
query subject.
